YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Formula E Team will take on the London E-Prix in Rounds 16 and 17 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship this weekend. The season finale will also mark the end of Formula E’s GEN3 era, bringing one of the most competitive chapters in the series’ history to a close.

Ahead of the final event of the campaign and following two solid points finishes at the team’s home event in Tokyo last month, Oliver Rowland remains firmly in contention to retain his Drivers’ title. The Brit currently sits fourth in the standings, just 14 points behind the championship leader. Meanwhile, teammate Norman Nato will look to build on his strong performance in Japan, where an excellent charge through the field in Sunday’s race saw him finish sixth and secure valuable points for the team.

The London circuit has often posed a unique challenge for Nissan Formula E Team, but both drivers have enjoyed memorable moments around the ExCeL Centre and Royal Victoria Dock. Rowland claimed victory at the circuit in 2024, while Nato has scored points on each of his last three visits.

Since returning to the calendar during Season 8, the London E-Prix has become a fan favorite thanks to its unique half-indoor layout. The event has hosted the season finale throughout the GEN3 era, making it one of the championship’s most distinctive venues.

Measuring 2.09-kilometers, the ExCeL London Circuit is the shortest and one of the narrowest tracks on the Season 12 calendar. The lap begins inside the exhibition center before heading outdoors, with overtaking opportunities limited until the run down to Turn 10 and the approach to Turn 16, where the circuit heads back indoors.

The season finale gets underway with Free Practice 1 at 16:00 local time (UTC+1) on Friday. Qualifying on Saturday and Sunday will begin from 10:40, with lights out for both rounds at 15:05. The opening event will feature Formula E’s mandatory Pit Boost stop, while Sunday’s race will follow the championship’s traditional format, presenting teams and drivers with two distinct challenges to close out the campaign.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “Season 12 has been a challenging one for us, with plenty of ups and downs, but thanks to the hard work of the entire team we arrive at the final race weekend fighting for a second consecutive Drivers’ World Championship with Oliver. This season has shown once again how competitive Formula E has become, and the fact that the championship will be decided in the final double-header is proof of that.

“London is always a special event for us. The UK is a very important market for Nissan, and racing in front of our fans and partners at the season finale makes it even more significant. As we come to the end of the GEN3 era, it’s great that the championship fight will go all the way to the final weekend. London is one of the most complex tracks on the calendar, and with two races left and such a close battle for the Drivers’ title, it should be an exciting finish to the season.”

Oliver Rowland, driver, Nissan Formula E Team: “I’m looking forward to getting back on track at my home race and doing all we can to overcome the deficit in the title battle. I feel like we’ve maximized our potential this year, we haven’t always had the quickest car, but we’ve managed to be in the fight until the end. Historically London hasn’t been our best track, it’s low grip and bumpy although it’s really fun to push to the limits in qualifying. Formula E is unpredictable, so we’ll prepare like we always do and put ourselves in the best possible position heading into the weekend.”

Norman Nato, driver, Nissan Formula E Team: “London is always an eventful race. It’s a fun but challenging circuit, overtakes are difficult so qualifying will carry extra importance. The semi-indoor layout is unique and it’s very cool to drive there. Our goal remains the same, we’ll do our best in preparation to begin the weekend positively and from there we’ll aim to finish the season with strong points.”

Sam Bird, reserve and development driver, Nissan Formula E Team: “The track in London is a tale of two halves, with the inside section being very smooth and having high grip before you go outdoors and it turns into a bumpy and low grip surface. Due to the nature of this tight circuit, qualifying will be vital and if you want to be scoring strong points then you need to be starting on the front few rows. The races are always hard as overtaking is so difficult, and with the different grip levels it challenges the teams and drivers to set the car up to suit this. However, I’ve got every confidence in the crew that we can have a great weekend.”
