Claudia Gast is joining General Motors on March 1 as Deputy CFO and Vice President, Strategy, Corporate Development, and Technology Partnerships.
Claudia is a seasoned executive and leader with deep experience in finance, business development, and corporate strategy. She will report to GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra for Strategy and to Executive Vice President and CFO Paul Jacobson for Corporate Development and Technology Partnerships.

Claudia most recently served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Lucid Motors, leading enterprise strategy, strategic partnerships, and business development, with expanded oversight across AI/ML, IT, financial services, investor relations, capital markets support, and operating functions. She also led Lucid’s IR function from late 2023 to early 2025.

Previously, she was Head of Strategy and M&A at defense contractor AM General, where she built the strategy function and led diversification, partnerships, and M&A. She also served as CFO and Board Director of Global Technology Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ: GTAC), leading IPO execution and public-company governance, and was a Partner at a growth-stage investment firm focused on late-stage pre-IPO technology investments, Greentrail Capital.
Gast additionally served as an Independent Board member and Audit Committee member at ESS Tech Inc. (NYSE: GWH).
