EV incentives in Alberta

Original AutoMart Canada notes for shoppers in Alberta. Rates and programs change — confirm with a dealer, insurer, or the provincial government before you buy.

The federal iZEV rebate is closed. Alberta does not run a standing provincial EV purchase rebate. Home charging and cold-weather range matter more here than in coastal markets.

What still matters in Canada after iZEV: on-sale confirmation for this country, NACS / CCS charging on the car you actually get, cold-weather range, and whether your hydro utility offers a time-of-use overnight rate.

Prairie and foothills climate: chinooks in the south, deep cold in the north, and AWD or 4x4 demand that stays high year-round. Battery range estimates from a US window sticker will not match a January commute in Alberta.

Used EVs and plug-in hybrids sometimes qualify for provincial programs that new vehicles do not. Read the current government page; AutoMart does not pay rebates.
