EV incentives in Ontario
Original AutoMart Canada notes for shoppers in Ontario. Rates and programs change — confirm with a dealer, insurer, or the provincial government before you buy.
Federal iZEV is closed. Ontario does not currently run a provincial new-EV rebate. Used-EV and HOV-lane rules have changed — verify before you buy electric for a commute.
What still matters in Canada after iZEV: on-sale confirmation for this country, NACS / CCS charging on the car you actually get, cold-weather range, and whether your hydro utility offers a time-of-use overnight rate.
Southern Ontario is mixed rain and snow with heavy road salt. Northern Ontario is a true winter climate. Battery range estimates from a US window sticker will not match a January commute in Ontario.
Used EVs and plug-in hybrids sometimes qualify for provincial programs that new vehicles do not. Read the current government page; AutoMart does not pay rebates.
