GM leads U.S. industry, 2025 sales up 6% – AutoMart Canada

General Motors led the U.S. auto industry in sales in 2025, reporting a 6% increase for the full year, with growth across multiple areas of GM’s portfolio.

GM is America’s full-size pickup leader for the 6^th straight year, with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra recording their best combined sales in 20 years. GM led the full-size SUV market for the 51^st consecutive year. GM was the industry’s #2 EV seller in 2025.

All four GM brands grew in 2025. GMC set a new sales record for the second consecutive year. Cadillac sales were the best in a decade. Chevrolet’s lineup of SUVs had their best sales ever. And Buick was one of the industry’s fastest-growing mainstream brands.

Sales in the fourth quarter declined 7% compared to the same period in 2024.

Other U.S. sales highlights include:

• In 2025, GM sold nearly 700,000 Chevrolet and Buick models with starting prices below $30,000.
• GM grew sales with incentives lower than the industry average.
• GM Envolve sales to fleet & commercial customers grew 10% in 2025.
