Hyundai Auto Canada has been recognized as a leader in corporate culture within the Canadian automotive industry, amassing the highest number of awards in this sector. According to a press release by the company, from January 1, 2019, through May 31, 2024, Hyundai received more awards for its corporate culture from prominent Canadian organizations such as Canadian HR Reporter, Great Place to Work, Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Waterstone HC, and Canadian HR Awards than any other automotive brand.
Don Romano, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, emphasized the importance of cultivating an inclusive and positive work environment that reflects the multicultural Canadian market. “Creating an inclusive and supportive culture not only serves our diverse consumer base effectively but is also fundamentally the right approach,” Romano stated.
Hyundai’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace extends to their human resources and administration strategies, which prioritize a people-first approach. This ethos, according to the company, has not only helped to build a resilient culture but also to attract a broader range of talents to the automotive industry.
The dedication to inclusivity is reflected in Hyundai Canada’s statistics: 39% of its team members are women, and at the National Managers level, 50% are female. In terms of broader diversity, 65% of its mid-level management identify as belonging to diverse groups.
